It has a slim sexy shape, thin adjustable straps and thin band of sheer scalloped lace along the top of the back and sheer. The bust is completely sheer and constructed of a layer of sheer organza covered with a layer of sheer scalloped floral lace.
This slip also used to have a band of sheer organza at the hem which was hacked off by the previous owner, literally; meaning it's a bit rough, uneven, tattered and oh so perfectly imperfect. (It proved quite challenging to get it to show up in a photo but you can get the general idea in pic #5.)
Part of the fun of dyeing anything is the surprise of how things turn out. (Like snowflakes - or people - no two are ever exactly alike.) This came out of the bath a cool toned light gray.
It's not a true solid, meaning it has a number of darker and lighter spots - and in the case of this particular slip, little bits of blue and red dye sprinkled about and a unique "spin art-esque" red and blue streaked area on the back of the skirt - which is just the nature of the process.

Made by Vanity Fair
100% nylon (exclusive of trim)
Machine wash cold w/ mild detergent, delicate cycle; tumble dry low.
bust: 32"
length: 36" (with straps fully extended)
[Measurements are taken flat, then doubled - except for the length; for best fit, compare the measurements to a similar piece in your closet.]
This is marked a size 32. In terms of this type of lingerie I usually base fit on a woman's bra size. I wear a size 36 bra and this is quite snug on me; I'd say it's best for a 32" bust. Slips like these are somewhat forgiving though and can still look fabulous worn a little loose or a little tight - it really depends on how you plan to style and wear it.

In great vintage condition. (Aside from the stuff mentioned above.) This will arrive washed and ready to wear.
(PS: In case you're wondering about any "side effects" from wearing a hand-dyed slip around the house, or anywhere else - the pieces go through two fairly rigorous washings during the process which helps set the dye. To date I have never had any problems with bleeding or color transfer and I have two chairs covered in white fabric in my living room.)
