The surface and sides of the clock face is made of real bamboo veneer (bamboo is an eco-friendly wood) and measures 9" x 9" x 1.25" The bamboo is veneered over scrap birch plywood leftover from two tatami beds I made. It has a water-based stain (sangria... 2 coats for a richer color) and a water-based clear finish.
