These whimsical, candy-coloured cupcake toppers look pretty enough to eat.
By now you may have heard about the gender reveal party as the latest trend among expectant parents.
For those of you who haven’t, here’s how it all unfolds. At the routine 20-week prenatal ultrasound the technician doesn’t reveal the baby’s gender to the parents-to-be. Instead, they write it in a note and seal it in an envelope.
That envelope finds its way to a friend – or to us – and we create cupcake toppers that will reveal whether the baby is a boy or girl at a party with your nearest and dearest. (Send us a note so we tell you our mailing address).
Here’s how it works: The toppers themselves feature a selection of pastel colours, but once you pull the toothpicks out of the topper at the party, you’ll find a blue or pink tip. Cue the ensuing celebration from your friends and family!
Click on the photos to the right for an example of how the blue tip would look. We prefer cupcake toppers to gender reveal cakes because you’d have to use an awful lot of food colouring to bake a cake with a pink or blue interior. And everyone knows food colouring isn't exactly a flavour additive.
Each topper is handmade and double-sided so that your cupcakes are attractive from any angle.
Place the toothpicks gently in the frosting and they'll stay put even if you frost these cupcakes hours before you actually serve them.
Please note: Set of toppers does not include liners, cupcakes, nor frosting.
