A bit on the conceptual side, this painting is comes from a more scientific, evolutionary approach to the creation of life. Using an almost sculptural impasto (textural) technique, gestural movements morph from blues (symbolizing ocean) to greens (symbolizing land). Snippets of the written word are scattered throughout: "EVOLUTION ... Primordial Stew ... In the beginning, there was a single cell prokaryote, perhaps evolving from protobionts..."
