The Signs of Hope series of note cards captures some of Joplin's most iconic signage, much of which was destroyed in the devastating tornado of May 22, 2011. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of these cards will be donated to the Trees for Joplin Fund set up by the Southwest Missouri Resource Conservation & Development office along with the Community Foundation of the Ozarks to help replant the city's tree canopy that was ravaged in the tornado.

This set includes:

- Twelve 4.25" x 5.5" folded cards (three each of four different designs), professionally printed
- Twelve white envelopes

Please note that orders take approximately 2 weeks to process.

About the Signs of Hope Project:

A few years ago while visiting my parents in Joplin, Missouri, we ventured out to take photos of some of my favorite vintage signage in town. Since I didn't get around to taking photos of the Tropicana Motel and the Ko Ko Motel signs before they were gone, I didn't want to miss my chance to capture other historic signs before they, too, disappeared. Little did I know that many of the signs that I stood under that day would be obliterated by an EF-5 tornado a few years later when I happened to be visiting again from Chicago. Now these images stand as a reminder that while much of Joplin's past has been erased, we can still hold on to our memories as we look to the future and the city comes together to rebuild.
