Not just for socks and sweaters anymore, argyle wraps this one-of-a-kind journal.

Bound by hand, this high-quality blank book is functional and fashionable.

Size: 3" x 4.5"
Pages: 120
Style: Coptic binding
Uses: men's journal, sketchbook, book for baby boy

Binding:
This book was sewn with mint green waxed linen thread in the ancient Coptic binding style, which allows the stitching to become a decorative element on the spine. Pages lay flat when open for ease of writing.

Papers:
For the covers, I selected an argyle paper featuring different shades of green and grey with gold accents. A coordinating mint green handmade lokta paper was used for the the guards (the paper wrapped around the six sections of pages that is seen along the spine). A dark brown paper was used for the end sheets (the insides of the covers). The interior pages are made from a lightly textured cream paper.

You'll receive the exact book shown in this listing.

All books are made in a smoke-free, pet-friendly environment.

About the artist:
Katie Gonzalez studied the art of bookmaking in Cortona, Italy during the summer of 2006. Visiting a medieval bindery, working with luxurious materials, and learning to make paper by hand instilled a sense of traditional techniques into her work. She combines that background with her contemporary graphic design degree from the University of Georgia. She lives and works in East Nashville with her husband and her brindle bullmastiff.
