From the vintage net and lace to the vintage sparkling aurora borealis and pearl earrings, I have upcycled materials to fashion fantasy flowers with eye-catching beauty. When I couldn't find leaves the emerald shade I wanted, I created my own with hand-embroidered highlights. I even hand-crocheted a tiny rose of hand-dyed cotton thread to nestle into the bouquet.
This beauty will take you from day wear to evening attire with it's shabby frayed charm! The flower bouquet measures 7" (17.8 cm) across at the widest point and 4-1/2" (11.4 cm) tall at the lacy side. Overall length is 18" (45.7 cm) including the brass chain with its locking lobster clasp. I embellished the chain with sparkling beads, including several swarovski crystals for extra sparkle. The necklace is backed with soft polyester felt to finish it off.
The frayed look of the flowers is intentional -- but to help prevent deterioration, I have used a fixative.
