There are holes on the back of this piece to allow for being hung with nails. This welcome sign is painted and glazed with non-toxic colors, can be washed with warm soapy water or even put in the dishwasher, and should be fine kept out doors in all kinds of weather.
Regretfully the pots are decorative only, as the holes in the back for hanging the piece make them unable to be used for actual planting. However, a little bit of green foam packed inside and some fake ivy could fool the eye!

I learned ceramics like an old-school apprentice, at the feet of my grandmother who had a studio in the 1950s and 1960s, and many of the pieces I make are from now-vintage molds that she bought then. My pieces are unique, hand painted, and proudly made in my own home studio. While I do own the majority of the molds for the ceramics I make, I did find this welcome sign in greenware (post-pouring, pre-firing). I cleaned it, fired it in my kiln, painted and glazed it, and fired it again. Because I do not own the mold for this, it’s likely to be a one-time offering.
