Cranberry Ice Cream - Handspun Laceweight Art Yarn with Beads. 600 yards

It's not often that I spin laceweight art yarn. I usually decide on either the one or the other, since both techniques are time consuming on their own - and a lace yarn with beads is a lot more work than a simple lace yarn. It's also not often that I spin this much of the same yarn - so this is rather special. It was inspired by berries and ice cream, and it will be suitable for both summer and winter knitting alike :-)

This beautiful laceweight art yarn contains a variety of fibre, hand blended by myself: fine merino wool of cardinal red and rosewood, wonderfully soft bluefaced leicester wool and lambs wool, both of natural white, and shiny white mohair.
I have spun in white sewing thread strung with lots of seed beads of frosted-looking white and a kind of blackberry-violet.

This elegant and soft art yarn will make a stunning project, such as a lacey scarf or shawlette.
