From now until the first day of fall I will double your order.
Bryophyllum Tubiflora or Chandelier Plant is a slender erect succulent native to Madagascar. The plant will reach 5 feet tall in containers. Leaves reach up to 6 inches (15 cm) long, and are spotted with violet-brown.
Young plantlets are formed along the tips of the leaves and propagate by falling off and starting a new plant.
They are a close relative to the "Maternity Plant").
Blooming Time: In winter, the salmon to scarlet flowers form in clusters. Individual flowers are 1 inch (2.5 cm) long.
Culture: Bryophyllum Tubiflora are said to need full sun but I have them growing in my South Carolina garden in partial sun and full sun and they do really well in both.
In the house place them in a bright window with a well-drained soil mix.
The plants are allowed to dry in between waterings and are fertilized with a balanced organic fertilizer once a month during the growing season.
During the winter months, when temperatures drop below 50° F they are brought into the greenhouse and our home and they are watered when the soil is dry to the touch.
Propagation: Bryophyllum Tubiflora is easily propagated from cuttings and from from plantlets.
It is so amazing watching the plants grow into a beautiful plant from the teeny tiny babies.
The plant grows twisty as it gets older, and is so unique and fun.
You don't even need a green thumb to enjoy!!
