Indian handloom cotton fabric in lilac color with black circles and treadrops print. The print looks like it is made using hand wooden blocks instead of being printed by machine. There is this irregular feel to it which can be found only in handmade fabric. The prints of khadi is strongly inspired by motives found in rural areas like trees, berries, things of day-to-day use and other things found in their natural surroundings. This amazing fabric is light and great for clothing. It can be used for whatever your heart desires.
This fabric is made by the people of India residing in rural parts. It not helps in rural developemnt but is also these people's only source of income. I, myself ,being a handicraft artist understand the value of "Handmade" . I am always looking for ways to help people who try to make handicrafts their way of life. So, I've decided to donate 10% of the proceeds of Khadi sales to go towards rural development through a non-profit organization in India.
This is an authentic Khadi fabric of slightly courser grade. The fabric softens after every wash and is great for the skin. There are various grades of Khadi and I'll be listing them all in the upcoming days. Do let me know if you want it in any specific color/ quantity.
Khadi became popular sincethe British rule by Gandhiji when he started the "Swadeshi Movement". None other fabric other than Khadi can used for the making of an Indian National Flag. This fabric has a history of it's own.
