I'm so proud to introduce my newest teddy bear "Horatio"! I hope you enjoy him as much as I enjoyed creating him!
"Horatio" is approximately 13 inches and made from vintage velveteens...you know, the shiny velvets some of us had the "misfortune" of seeing hanging as drapes in our homes waaaayyyy back in the 60's and 70's! Very icky to look at then but a real treasure for a bearmaker such as myself now! Due to the fact that my camera is not being very cooperative lately, the colors seem a bit subdued. The red velvet that makes up his body is a stunning ruby red! Beautiful!
He's got gorgeous handblown glass eyes, some light shading on his face and ears and is fully jointed with cotterpins and hardboard discs. He's even got a bit of a wobble joint in his neck and I've jointed his arms a bit loosely. I've stuffed Horatio with a mixture of upholstery cotton stuffing and polyfill. He's got a yummy collar made from a rich shade of green organza and to finish off his sylish look, he's wearing three pretty buttons!
Horatio is wearing an "aged" paper tag that reads simply "To love a teddy bear is to love with a whole heart". Now, if we could only love one another as we love our teddy bears.
