Esmerelda, is currently on her fifteen (she works as a taxidermist) with her stub of a cigarette that is casually spouting the last of its gold-glitter smoke. She is jonesing for another cigg, but has lost her lighter in the mass of moss, flowers, and snail shells, so she angrily curses, "Drat the fireflies and fiddlesticks!" the most obscene phrase in a pixie's vocabulary.
I make my collages with scraps from magazines and other odds and ends that I find in my house. This particular collage features, real snail shells and real moss, miniature polymer flowers that I painstakingly sculpted, an article from an Italian newspaper, cardboard, an old pair of pantyhose, yellow paper, and last but not least, an old pin that I just dubbed "Esmerelda" while composing this description.
