Keeping with one of my consistent themes – upcycled mens dress shirts and neckties – I decided it was time to introduce some tank tops. These tanks are great. Why?
1. They are roomy and comfortable.
2. They are hip and stylish. The “man’s dress shirt look” makes them unique and interesting, plus they look cute with anything (leggings and strappy sandals are a good start).
3. They have changeable and adjustable straps. The straps are a man’s necktie. You can change and tie the necktie straps to your desired length and style.
In a nutshell, this tank is made from an upcycled mans dress shirt and comes with TWO upcycled neckties for the straps. The shirt is blue, tan and orange plaid and I believe it is 100% cotton. It is machine washable but remove the necktie straps first because neckties are not machine washable. The first necktie strap is navy blue and orange stripes with orange daisies and the other necktie is an abstract print in shades of tan with navy blue an brick red. All you will need is a large safety pin so you can thread the necktie strap through the top neckline of the blouse.
SIZE: ONE SIZE FITS MANY. You have the ability to adjust the straps and bust gathering to your desired fit. Overall design fit is to be large and roomy. The exact bust and hip measurement of the shirt before gathering is 44" or 112cm
