The "ocean" surrounding her is raw kyanite. The metal work has been created by soldering sterling silver, fine silver and copper together to "frame" each link. The silver has a dark patina and the copper has been oxidized to a rich green. The detailed cut outs on the metal work are intricate and give this necklace
She wears like a collar and the design goes all the way around. The kyanite has been finished with an epoxy lacquer to provide added strength. She can be worn from 16"-20" bu adjusting the heavy sterling silver chain. Lobster Claw closure.
The Mermaid measures about 2" (5cm)x 1 1/3" (3.5cm). The kyanite links vary in size from 1 1/2"(5cm) to 2 1/4" (6cm) long by 1/2" (1.5cm) to 3/4" (2.5cm) wide. Lapis and black spinel brioletts are added to the rings of the connecting links for sparkle and movement.
