Fabrics are 100% cotton. The top and bottom are from a random charm pack I got in a fabric swap awhile back. I am not sure what it is, but it has some great bright colors: Teal blue, orange, red, and some olive green while the sides are coordinating blue and red prints from the same charm pack. I used an orange flannel fabric for the batting, and a layer of teal cotton for the 3rd layer. Thus this item is quilted with 3 layers.
It is plump with Poly-fil and can hold pins on all sides.
The top and bottom squares are quilted with the traditional "X" and the sides are straight-line quilted. It has been washed and dried once to begin the raggy look we love in the rag quilts. Two square orange plastic buttons were hand stitched to the bottom and top creating a pillowy look.
The measurements for this pincushion are 4"x4"x2".
