Coopering refers to the art of taking flat boards of wood and methodically and precisely fitting them to make an elegant curved component. Not only is the lid beautifully coopered but each component is also hand dovetailed to provide an amazing appearance and a quality level that will last for generations . This makes for a masterfully executed lid that will always look elegant but also challenge even the most skilled craftsmen to wonder how it was executed so flawlessly. The hand made raised panel construction refers to the solid wood panels assembled in a 'floating method' to account to the seasonal expansion and contraction of the wood. Each panel was meticulously hand fit making this item truly flawless. The trunk is made of solid cherry wood from locally harvested and naturally fallen trees. The solid cedar bottom is a beautiful detail that also fills the interior with the soothing and beautiful smell of fresh Cedar.
