Bats are not just for Halloween decorations. They are an integral part of a healthy ecosystem, and they help keep the insect population in check. Beyond being badass flying mammals, they're also pretty darn cute.
This little bat is hand knitted and his guts are needle felted and then sewn into place. He comes pinned into an 5 x 13" wooden frame.
*These bats are currently being made to order and may differ slightly from the bat pictured.*
I live in Vermont, and our state, along with the rest of the East Coast, has suffered a terrible loss of bats due to the as-yet-unexplained White Nose Syndrome.
For each bat I sell, I will donate $10.00 to the Center for North American Bat Research and Conservation. They have set up a fund to research the syndrome.
Their website is here, should you want to donate: http://www.indstate.edu/biology/centers/batwnsfund.htm
