Automatist abstract painting. Light blue and dusty rose with lively black / grey acrylic drawing beneath.
This piece was influenced by the writings of Clarice Lispector, as well as by Hispanic Surrealism, more broadly.
Medium: Oil paints, using alkyd medium (this greatly reduces "drying" time, as well as increasing luminosity and creating a more flexible paint film, less prone to brittleness and cracking with age.)
Dimensions: 20 x 16 inches (508 x 406 mm)
Work date: 2011-2012
Support: oil on canvas
The edges are painted a dusty rose tone; the painting may be displayed very effectively without a frame.
