Make a 40" (maximum) square quilt with bright, happy, gender neutral fabrics SIMILAR to those you see in the photos. Colors include oranges and blues, with some green, brown, and yellow accents. Based on availability, you'll get fun prints like birds, monkeys, popsicles, airplanes, and more. Designers in this kit may include Joel Dewberry, Anna Maria Horner, Tanya Whalen, Amy Butler, Alexander Henry, Japanese prints and MUCH more! Don't like some of the prints you see? That's ok, this kit comes with SO much extra fabric, you can leave out the prints you don't like as much or want to use for a future project. The last image shows my current in-stock by the yard prints. I will not include any pinks unless you ask for them.
***PLEASE NOTE that some of the photos were taken a while back and I do NOT have any more Heather Ross fabric to include in these kits.***
See the fourth image for a way to cut the scraps into pieces that you will use to form identical blocks if you like. The easiest way to go is the free-form piece and cut as you go method, where you just start sewing the pieces together, cutting them into nice rectangles as you go for a random effect. Or start in the center and work around your featured piece as though you were making a "log cabin" block like the example in the first image.
This is an intermediate beginner level project. If you are experienced in quilting you can finish the project in one weekend!
-Your kit includes (all unwashed):
*more than enough fabric pieces all different sizes ranging from 4" to 12" for the top
*more than enough of 3 different prints for:
-coordinating border strips
-100% cotton batting
******There are no official instructions that come with this kit.*****
You will receive the same amount of binding and border fabric, so you get to choose which one goes where.
***If you have a special request for your binding, border and backing fabrics, please convo me before ordering for my custom cut fee I will have to add to your order.
Please let me know if you have any questions. There are no real instructions for the kit because it is a free-form project and each quilter will do as she likes with the many sizes of pieces. Any basic quilting tutorial or book will show you how to do the basic things like basting your layers together and adding a binding. HOWEVER, I love to help people along... if you hit a roadblock in your project, send me a convo and I'll see if I can help you out!
Order a bed size kit (shown in the last image) - convo me for pricing based on the finished size you desire.
