Hello etsyland.
If you are interested in how this print and other gelatin monoprints in my shop were made,
Take a look and the additional item pictures where you can see some process shots.
The process is called gelatin monotyping. I cooked up a batch of plain gelatin (convoy me if you want the recipe and directions). Once the slab sets you ink it up like any other printing plate and you can take paint away or block it (in this case I pressed leafs for the botanical delight).
Here's a blog some friends of mine put up: http://4alchemists.wordpress.com/
Meanwhile, Austin Texas is not only the Music Capital of the world, it’s also a great place for artists. I am active in four fantastic artist groups: WPA (Women Print makers of Austin), PrintMatters (my Houston buds and old digs), Austin Fiber Artists, and last but not least, my beloved serious geeks Austin Alternative Process Group where we strive to keep alive old photography processes such as carbon and salt prints.
Happy Printing ; )
