Each bird I carve is full size. I research the dimensions from various bird books. I also make my own plans for each bird. I make the feet out of copper wiring and brass plates and solder. The glass eyes are researched for the proper size and color and purchased from a Taxidermist shop in S. Dakota. The birds that have the most detail, with wood burning and painting take about 40-60 hours. So obviously I carve for the love of it not the money.
