1/8" thick foam Midsole Material (I sell it in my shop in this section: https://www.etsy.com/shop/shoeology?section_id=7649735)
Suede, Leather, or Vinyl for the Topsole
Contact Cement (Popular brands: Barge cement or Shoe Goo)
FOR THE UPPER SANDAL YOU COULD USE:
Light to medium weight fabric, leather, grosgrain ribbon, vinyl, or faux suede.
DO I NEED ANY SPECIAL EQUIPMENT?
No. You don't need any special equipment. If you want to use fabric than you will need a regular home sewing machine to make the straps. If you want to add a topstitch to your leather, you will need a leather sewing needle for your sewing machine.
WILL THESE WORK FOR WIDE OR NARROW FEET?
Yes. The straps can easily be lengthened or shortened to fit your needs. The footbed can also be widen or narrowed down. I will teach you how to customize the fit so that your sandals will fit your feet perfectly.
WHERE CAN I BUY CONTACT CEMENT?
Most hardware stores sell it, even online hardware stores usually sell it. You can also find it on Ebay.
WHERE CAN I BUY SUEDE AND LEATHER?
You can find recycled upholstery leather sold by the pound here: http://www.leatherunltd.com/leather/pieces/pieces.html I like the Large upholstery pieces for my sandals and topsole.
HOW DO I CUT THE HARD SOLE MATERIAL?
You can cut with fairly sharp scissors or a utility knife.
CAN I USE SOMETHING OTHER THAN CONTACT CEMENT?
Not really, nothing holds layers of sole material together like contact cement.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE A PAIR?
Approximately 1 1/2- 2 hours after you get the hang of it.
I'M SO EXCITED I FEEL LIKE I'M GOING TO EXPLODE, CAN YOU HELP ME?
Yes, make a few pairs of these fun sandals and you'll feel sooooo much better!!!!
