The delicate insect is comprised of 800 continental silver in a lacy filigree or cannetille design, with gold vermeil wash and glossy ‘plique a jour’ enameling in various hues of blue, emerald green, and caramel brown.
It measures 1&5/8 inches wide by 1&1/8 inches high, weighs 4.6 grams, and is marked “800" along with the maker’s registration mark “79 GE” (to indicate Genoa) within a lozenge shaped cartuche.
