This original bread box was inspired by "Dia de los Muertos" and old school tattoo design. It has been completely refurbished from its original life, hand painted, and matte sealed for protection and a lasting vibrancy. This bread box was handcrafted over 20 years ago, and is "weathered" on the outside, but I like that it looks like old/vintage Mexico (please note that this box is not new, it does have some wear, but the art is new). The inside of the box is clean, and is in great condition. The box door features a skeletal swallow flanked by roses and flowers, and it swings down to open with ease. The top of the box has a floral and scalloped border, and would be cool as a little shelf. The sides are decorated with large roses inside a scalloped frame. This piece would be awesome in a "Day of the Dead" themed kitchen, but would also be great storage anywhere in the house or studio. This solid wood piece measures 17" long x 9" deep x 9" tall (inside of box: 15.5" long x 6" deep x 6.5" tall). To clean: please wipe with a damp cloth, but I don't recommend scrubbing the painted surfaces or immersing it in water. Signed on the front by the artist (me). This piece is stunning in person and is one-of-a-kind! It would be a unique and vibrant addition to any "Day of the Dead" collection!
