One half of this necklace is an opulent combination of deep purple and soft lilac amethyst mixed with beautifully faceted rare lavender opal briolettes. The opposite half is presented with wonderfully clean pale green amethyst mixed with tiny green seed pearls. Like a bract of flowers these two sides are designed with the most open blooms to the front and graduating to smaller ones as it moves to the back. Then, like unopened buds, clusters of hand crafted links of 24k vermeil continue the chain. Spacers of checkerboard faceted crystal quartz divide sections of the chain, and also form the short extender at the back of the necklace. Center front is a spectacular slice of amethyst stalactite from Brazil. This beautiful specimen sports an amber and green eye and is suspended from the necklace by a finely hand wrapped bail embellished with two carefully carved chrome diopside leaves.
As it is, the necklace would be a stunning addition to one’s jewelry collection. However, it is always the intention to make each piece as wearable as possible. To this end, I have divided the necklace with a set of compatible magnetic clasps (with very strong magnets, I might add), making the two amethyst sections very wearable as breathtaking bracelets. They are not identical, offering more versatility, and then recombine at will to produce the exquisite necklace.
Vermeil is sterling silver with a heavy coating of 24 karat gold. It wears very well and will give you years of pleasure in this fine piece. It should be maintained as you would sterling silver. This necklace will arrive with a special tarnish-fighting insert. Full care instructions will be provided
