I picked up a box of old letters and paper ephemera at an estate sale intending to use them for mixed media. But I could never bear to, you know, actually USE them. I read a few, looked at the interesting stamps, etc. and decided mixed media just wasn't for me so I'm destashing them.
Bundle of miscellaneous paper ephemera, mostly letters and envelopes. Highlights in this lot: An invitation to Commencement Exercises Williams College June 20, 1938, airmail letters from Costa Rica (neat stamps!) in Spanish, typed letter from Ottauquechee Savings Bank, Woodstock, Vermont to “Ted” signed Dad with handwritten note on the bottom dated 1938, handwritten report card for Jean Williams 1931, a lock of hair – note on envelope says, “My hair at the age of 15 yrs cut on October 11, 1932”, typed letter from The Bishop’s House, Rock Point, Burlington, Vermont (beautiful stationary!) dated “All Saints Tide 1933,” letter to Miss Margaret Edmonds in Plymouth, N.H. that reads in part, “I have got me a cow come down and I will give you a drink of milk it is good milk” signed, “Chester.”
I mean, really . . . where are you going to find stuff like that nowadays? Priceless!
