I have a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and I am a member of the Mild Brain Injury Resource Network that meets at Meriter Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. We meet the third Thursday of each month from 6:30 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. for support. Dr. Ellyn Kroupa retired in 2010 and now Dr. Deb Enburg is our facilitator. Please feel free to call her at (608) 845-6356.
We may look fine on the outside but we may never be the same on the inside. We have an urgency in the world for support. There are approximately 2 million brain injuries a year, each day 5,500 individuals sustain TBI. It is the 4th leading cause of death and there needs to be education. I made this button just for the solidarity and awareness of TBI.
I oil painted Gabrielle (Gabby) Gifford. I believe you know her from being an Arizonia State Democratic Representative who was shot in the head from close- range. She is an amazing example of a brain injury survival with immediate medical attention.
Please tell your friends of our cause to make brain injury awareness more prevalent. Just so you all know...I designed the button with the critique/support of Dr. Enburg, Ruth and Doc Ron Inda a (holistic-chiropractor). I had it printed, bought the buttons and packaging, did all the art work as I struggle with TBI. I am donating part of the sales to the Mild Brain Injury Resource Network in Madison, Wisconsin. Cross your fingers for me/us ...please...
