I sold this quilt but I can make another one like it. I can begin working on it towards the end of March, and finish 2-3 weeks later. The backing fabric will be different than the one shown.
This sweet quilt is sure to brighten up any nursery and add a special French flair. It has been made with fabrics from the Bonne Amies collection as well as some from the French Journal group. There are paisleys, scrolls, roses and stems, stripes, dots and even patches with Eiffel Towers. Truly French!
The quilt measures 42 x 50...this is a perfect size for a crib or for using on the floor for playtime. On your lap for cuddling, across a chair, or folded at the end of a bed are some other ways the quilt can be used.
I machine quilted the quilt with Warm and White cotton batting and stitched in a free motion, all-over loopy, swirly design with cotton thread. The backing is the gorgeous Belle Rose print from French Journal, shown in the last photo. This is so pretty, the quilt could be used on this side as well. The binding has been made double, stitched to the front of the quilt, then turned to the back and hand stitched down to finish.
I have gently washed the quilt to bring out the soft puckers of a favorite quilt. This can be done in the washer in cold water and a gentle cycle. To dry, toss in the dryer and dry on a low setting. The quilt can also be laid flat, or hung to dry.
This quilt will be the hit of a baby shower or will make an awesome Welcome Home Mom and Baby gift!
