Hand spun yarn - GULF STREAM - handpainted domestic wool, worsted weight. 260 yds.

This yarn is dyed after spinning. It was spun from two different rovings (one is dark grey, the other white) and then plied together. When the dyes hit the two underlying colors, they produced wonderfully varied colors. The white yarn has a little sheen, the dark is very absorbent. Dyed with navy blue, teal, and forest green dyes, these colors evoke the ocean to me, the deep, dark blues beneath and looking up through the water; looking up, the sunlight above creating shimmering shafts of aqua and blue-greens.

This listing is for one 2-ply skein, with a total weight of 4.0 oz., spun at an average of 1040 ypp (yards per pound). This yarn is a little woolly and bouncy, a very squeezable yarn. A bulky worsted, it wraps at 8-10.
