Great swish factor with this wrap-around winter skirt, made from a vintage pattern.
I made this skirt out of purple pinwale corduroy. It is a luscious royal purple colour and the cord seems to glow in the sunlight.
It is knee-length and sized to fit Australian girls 10-12 but since it is a wrap-around style it can be made smaller or larger.
All seams have been overlocked, and it features a colour-coordinated rolled hem. It ties at the back with a pretty, fulsome bow. There is a pocket on each side for a hanky or treasures.
Made with new fabric but using a vintage pattern, McCalls 8062 from 1982.
Sizing (from pattern) Medium, size 8-10, to fit waist 23.5-24.5 inches, hip 28 - 30 inches, length of skirt is 21.5 inches. The model in the photo generally wears Australian size 10 skirts.
If you are after a light weight, summer skirt, try this one: same vintage pattern, but in a gorgeous ladybird print! http://www.etsy.com/listing/78328876/handmade-girls-wraparound-flamenco-style
