❥ The SPF factor of sunscreen only refers to UVB (burning) rays, not UVA (aging) rays protection. This is why it's important to use broad spectrum sun protection products, which you get, without chemicals, with zinc oxide as the active ingredient.
❥ UVA (the aging rays), are longer waves and penetrate deeper into the skin, thus doing more long term damage as far as aging the skin.
❥ Zinc oxide has anti-inflammatory properties, making it an ideal active ingredient in sun protection products.
❥ As an example, SPF30 blocks approximately 97% of UVB rays when discussing commercial sunscreen products. It does not block UVA (aging rays). Zinc oxide blocks both.
❥ We DO NOT USE micronized zinc oxide, which are nano particles. We use standard,small particle sized zinc oxide, so you do need to rub it in thoroughly.
