vintage 1930's deep midnight blue, silk velvet formal evening gown. this bias cut dress embodies a glamourous and elegant feel and is just incredible to wear. every detail was well thought out in the construction of this beautiful garment. the puffed, fold over, tulip-like sleeves with shoulder pads and rushing, plunging neckline accentuated by the most lovely embossed brass dress clips with rhinestone centers, soft, vertical gathering of velvet on bodice, continuing on to a horizontal cut panel with the same type of soft gathering across waist. full, sweeping floor length dramatic skirting, side metal zipper for closure. wow! such a divine piece to add to your vintage collection.

approximate size m
shoulders: 14.5"
bust: 19"
waist: 14"
hips: 30" stretched to widest point
total length: 60"

condition: this dress is around 80 years old and is in incredible condition for its age. the dress clips are totally intact, but need to be treated with care. this gown is very long, and it appears that a small hole was mended near bottom hem. there are two tiny holes right in the center of the upper back. this dress would be worn with a dark navy slip and the tiny spots would not be noticed at all. once again, this dress is very old and in great condition for its long lived life. this would be the most perfect gown to wear to a very formal and special occasion.
