An huge albino sperm whale with a violent streak had fascinated whalers and the reading public for decades before Melville published his masterpiece.
The whale,"Mocha Dick," was named for the island of Mocha, in the Pacific off the coast of Chile.
Our wooden whale is all hand cut, he is supersized measuring in at a great 41" long. He is so sculptural at this size. Fished in white wash, the distressed wood finish amplifies his surface texture. We will always cut him with the grain running horizontally, as if he has been in the ocean for decades.
This is the most fantastic piece for your beach house, porch or to brining that beach feel home.
