This iconic and nostalgic one-of-a-kind hand-painted upcycled decoupage canister expresses this important concept, "All you need is love...and you will have peace"...Thus is the name of this art piece! John Lennon and his sweet love Yoko Ono are featured in this classic black and white image of them comfortably lounging in their bed holding flowers as if making a peace offering. On the other side of the canister is a large sparkly silver peace sign and a silver lounge pillow embellished with symbols of peace; also amongst these images is the memorable cover of the Beatles' Abbey Road album. There is also a big painting pictured that reads "All You Need Is Love" and an image of a couple in their pajamas (like what John and Yoko are wearing) reading their morning papers with the word "LOVE" on them...imagine a world where the news is nothing but love?! The power is in us, if we all spread the love! ;-)
You can display this breathtaking piece as a candle votive, trinket container, or as a beautiful work of art. In the featured pictures, I use the canister to hold a collection of colored pencils. You could maybe use this Beatles-themed canister to store your guitar picks! This also makes a great gift for holding baked goods, candies, soaps, teas, etc. Also in my shop are some handmade all-natural soaps that come in a lace embellished wrap that perfectly fits inside of a canister like this one...making a wonderful gift set!
In these pictures, the shine on the canister is from the glossy Mod Podge finish. I applied two coats of Mod Podge to this canister so the images are protected, yet you can still feel the fun texture of the freckles!
The eco-friendly recycled materials used in this item are: a tin can, recycled yogi tea tags, and recycled magazine clippings. This piece measures 4 1/4 inches tall and 3 inches wide. The interior of this tin is painted a mesmerizing metallic blue! Canisters like this one were opened with a special can opener that cuts with a very smooth edge, so you can touch the top of the canister and be completely safe!
