The valley on the west side of my hometown, Mount Shasta in far northern California, contains a rich wetlands of marshes. It is the headwaters of California’s great Sacramento River and an important ecosystem on the Pacific Flyway for migrating waterfowl.
This small woodland lake lies at the edge of town, the location of a nature study area and a popular fishing hole for kids. The old watergate, installed in the 1930's, regulates the water level. I love the deep patina of rust on the historic pipe.
I painted the pond on a clear spring day, with Mount Shasta still covered with snow.
This print is made with the best quality giclee printing process, an exact reproduction of the original painting - same size, same colors, same style of paper. It is printed on archival grade watercolor paper which has a slight texture, with archival, fade-resistant inks. This full sized print has the beautiful richness of the original watercolor!
I sign the print in the white area below the image (with title, my signature, and edition number, as is traditional for limited edition prints). If you would like to have it signed ON the image, please convo me so I can include my signature there as well.
