Beautiful and Rare Teeswater Long Wool Yearling Locks
One Ounce
Here for your consideration are
gorgeous and lustrous locks imported from
Higher Gills Farm in England. Higher Gills Farm
is home to Champion Pedigreed Teeswater sheep.
These amazing locks are over 12 inches long, still curled
and relaxed. One ounce is approximately 50 of these locks.
They are all natural, not bleached or dyed.
These locks come to you creamy white, with no staining, but
the tips are less white than the sheared end.
These locks are all separated ready to use.
They have been washed, and are free of any particles like hay.
These locks have many uses.
Teeswater wool dyes beautifully with acid dyes.
They can be used for doll hair, felting, fringe, and tail spinning.
Unfortunately, combing is not advised.
These locks can be carefully combed, but they will become frizzy
and the lock formation will be gone. You can swirl a combed
lock in a bowl of water, and let it drip dry and you will just have
waves--no curls left.
These come to you from a non-smoking home

About the Teeswater sheep:
Teeswater sheep are an old breed, but still very rare
in the USA. They are large hornless sheep producing a fine,
long-stapled luster wool with a natural permanent curl.
No dark fibers (kemp) appear in the fleece.
The wool is soft and supple to handle and retains
its curl and luster after washing.
The luster remains after spinning giving the
finished product a pearly sheen. The fleece is nearly
identical to Wensleydale fleece, as Wensleydale sheep
originated from the Teeswater breed.
