On a hot summer afternoon, a mountain stream is a cool haven of shade and splashing water. Hiking up the creek drainage, you discover pool after shady pool and the constant song of the rushing water over ancient boulders.
This crystal clear stream tumbles down from the wilderness of far northern California and flows into one of my favorite rafting rivers. This land has been the home of the Karuk people for thousands of years and is a sacred location, filled with tradition and spirit. I painted the watercolor on location, en plein air, perched on a shady boulder in the creekbed.
The additional images show details of the painting, with vibrant watercolor pigments, highlights of water soluble Caran d'Asche crayon, pen and ink. The fifth photo shows the print matted and framed in a gallery setting.
This print is made by the best professional giclee printing process. It is an exact reproduction of the original painting - same size, same colors, same style of paper. It is printed on archival grade watercolor paper which has a nubby texture, with archival, fade-resistant inks. Side by side, it is nearly impossible to tell the print from the original watercolor!
I sign the print in the white area below the image (with title, my signature, and edition number, as is traditional for limited edition prints). If you would like to have it signed ON the image, please convo me so I can include my signature there as well.
This print is packaged in sealed cello for protection and shipped safely rolled in a mailing tube. The story of the painting is included with the print. It is mailed to you by first class postage, and may require up to 3 business days to ship out. If you require earlier shipment, please convo me first. I take the utmost care in packing your purchases so that they arrive safely and in pristine condition.
