Jyotindra Manshankar Bhatt (b. 1934), is best known for his modernist work in print making and painting. He is also reknown for his photographic documentation of rural Indian culture. In the early 1960s Bhatt studied at the Academia di Belle Arti in Naples, Italy. He spent two years (1964-1966) studying print making at Pratt Institute in New York (Fulbright Scholarship). In 1966 Bhatt returned to India to teach at M.S.U. Baroda.
Jyoti Bhatt lives and works out of Vadodara (fomerly Baroda), India.
Jyoti Bhatt has won numerous awards and his work is in international collections, including the Museum of Modern Art , New York, The Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C., and The British Museum, London.
