This is a seriously big and sturdy shopping bag, also known as The Alexander Sack*. It's made from my Colts fabric in a colour called Army. One of these images shows some of the stuff that can fit in an Alexander Sack at once, and there's still space for more!

The bag is made from a strong cotton/linen blend fabric. It has an extra base panel for strength, to which the straps are attached, and all seams are triple-stitched with top stitching thread. The straps consist of a woven jute with a polypropylene layer beneath. It's a really, really strong bag! Inside, there's a pocket so that your keys don't get lost at the bottom.

*Alexander Sack - named in honour of my friend who insisted I base a bag pattern on one she'd had in her family for decades. Thanks, Robyn!
