So many pieces of fabric were cut and stitched to make this appliqued mola cat! Layer by layer, stitch by tiny stitch.. hand sewn using the same time honored techniques handed down from Kuna mother to daughter for generations.

Well sewn with great attention to detail by a very gifted Kuna Indian artist, San Blas Islands, Panama. All the hand stitching is excellent.. double machine stitched around the edges and triple stitched at all stress points.

Like all of our animals, she is inspired by molas worn by Kuna Indian women. Our job is to get creative with color and form.. and to bring flat fabric art to life!
