This window is constructed with copper foil and framed in zinc. The window's appearance will change every hour as the sun passes behind it. This original design is hand cut to ensure quality placement of each piece (unlike imported stained glass that is cut uneven and the solder lines vary in width with poor quality that can easily warp over time and the heat of the sun) this piece will last for centuries. This panel is built with the copper foil and lead came technique with a sturdy zinc frame. The piece is buffed and polished with glass wax. This window has a black patina applied to the metal. The black patina adds drama to the design while speeding up the natural darkening process inherent to lead and solder. This piece signed by the individual artist, Linda.
THE ARTISTS: Robert Neely and Linda Hiatt-Neely have bachelor's degrees in fine art and have been designing stained glass gifts and windows for 23 years. Linda received her master's degree in May 2011 from Lesley University in Cambridge.
