I've loved stack rings since I first saw them years and years ago, and I love making them. I certainly don't claim stack rings my original design. I make them well and quickly, so they are less expensive than other folks' rings.
I use thin 20 gauge gold filled* wire to make the ring's band. Because the ring bands are hammered, they are very strong and won't bend out of shape.
*Gold Filled metal will keep its gold layer for a very, very long time- much, much longer than gold-plated metal, of course, and under the gold is brass, which is the same color, so if it wears away over time, there isn't a different colored metal underneath. If you treat your gold filled jewelry in a non-abrasive manner, it will last as long as any gold jewelry. (Though with rings, that can be hard to do.)
