Although not a pure replica of the original case study modern birdhouses, this interpretation utilizes clear western red cedar as the base material, while the top and support are constructed from baltic birch.
The finish on the birdhouse is a clear, environmentally friendly organic oil, and low voc paint was used to finish the roof. The hole diameter is 1.5 inches and would accommodate a small family of small to medium sized species. The outside perimeter of the house is quite spacious at 8.25 inches squared. (overall roof width is roughly 9".
Please contact me if you'd like to substitute teak for the clear cedar. I don't use virgin teak, but have a reclaimed source. Additional charges apply. Pricing includes shipping.
