Top grain, aniline dyed leather. Very soft, luxurious hand, yet very durable as this leather was intended for use in furniture upholstery. As with all natural products, one can expect to find markings known as 'hallmarks'. These hallmarks are caused by scarring or wrinkling of the hide from which it came. Being that this specific leather is full top grain, hallmarks are very slight, if any at all. In this specific tie a minor wrinkle can be found at the narrow end tail. Those who prefer the quality of high-end leather find these hallmarks desirable, as the slight imperfection belongs only to them. This is a very distinctive, and unconventional material, utilized for a classic menswear accessory.
My original design for this tie tucks under, and sews the raw edge of the leather leaving smooth, clean edges. The stitch matches the color of the leather, and serves as an attractive border.
This tie is approximately 62" in length(several inches longer than average to compensate for the thickness of the knot). The width of the tie, measured at the widest point, is 2 & 3/4" wide.

On the reverse side, there is a signature red twine hand-crocheted chain which serves as the keeper for the tail end of the tie. This chain is hand threaded into the stitched edge of the tie, and it secures the tail while being worn.
