A lovely 6mm Oregon sunstone (0.87 carat) sits in a handmade 14k rose gold bezel on a 4mm wide floral patterned palladium sterling silver band.
All of the metal used in this ring's construction is from recycled sources. The sunstone was mined right here in the USA and cut by a small family business in Sri Lanka. My stone supplier has worked directly with this same family for many years and is committed to helping to improve their lives. The cutters are paid a professional price for their work; no cheap mass production done by children in India or underpaid factory workers in China.
Because sunstone measures a 6.2-7.5 on the Mohs hardness scale, it is important to be aware that it can abrade or chip with very hard daily wear. It is not as hard as diamond, moissanite, sapphire, and the like - more comparable in hardness to peridot, amethyst, and garnet (not quite as soft as opal though). If you plan to wear sunstone on an everyday basis (such as for a wedding/engagement ring), and especially if you tend to be hard on your jewelry, I recommend looking into having it scheduled separately on your insurance policy to provide for stone replacement in case of damage.

Due to the value of this piece, shipping costs have been adjusted to include insurance within the United States. I do offer international shipping; if you live outside the US, please contact me for a quote specific to your location. Due to the lack of availability of insurance through the US postal service for international packages, I use FedEx when shipping overseas; this is a more expensive but far safer option. International buyers, please be aware that you are solely responsible for any duties/taxes that your country may charge on imported goods.
As is all my jewelry, this piece is vegan, meaning no animal products (pearls, silk, leather, etc.) were used in its construction.
