I love stories of what makes things the way they are today, especially redemptive ones--here is the story of this piece. This window came from a home in Lexington Kentucky. My husband was on a community project through our church replacing these old windows with new ones for a family who otherwise did not have the means to do so. My husband saw two-fold opportunity to give this family some cash through the purchase of their old windows and to give me some very cool starting pieces for some new projects. After some good ol' elbow grease and lots of love I cleaned up some of the dirtiest windows I've ever seen. I then combined one of my favorite designer papers a silkscreened embossed paper from India made from recycled cotton rag. I adhered three flowers, one that is completely vintage and two that I bought from a local crafter who made one out of fabric and one is crocheted.
This can double as a unique piece of wall art, as well as a very stylish dry erase board (see photos with writing). It comes ready to hang, with a black dry erase marker included.
