Enchanted Forest illustration, "Guardians of the Enchanted Forest: A bit more aggressive than your usual Tree Spirits, these Guardian Spirits oversee the boundaries of the Enchanted Forest. My advice, answer their questions in a straightforward manner and avoid striking a match.

This is an original work of art. I drew the trees with a burnt sienna Faber-Castell artist pen, and the owls with a very fine black Copic marker. I then colored the trees with a light brown wash and the owls with a Faber-Castell grey brush-style marker. Next, I went over all of the lines in the trees and spirits with a terracotta watercolor pencil and highlighted the spirit's forms by adding a layer of terracotta. I added a French Grey highlight (in watercolor pencil) to the tree bark to contrast with the spirit forms, and added a spot of bright Spring Green color pencil to the spirits' eyes. A dusky blue-grey watercolor wash fills in the background. Signed on the bottom right-hand corner (S.Mac) with a full signature and date on the back in pencil.
