Spinel Hoop Earrings, Big Sterling OOAK Earrings with Latchback, Pastel Gold and Silver, Gemstone Hoops. Natural Spinel in shades of pink, mauve, lavender and purple plus gold beads all bound to sterling silver big hoop earrings with fine sterling wire. The OOAK silver hoops, formed of sterling tubing, are closed with a hinged ear wire that fits into a latch back, making an earring that is secure and easy on and easy off.

I chose colors that were in the range of rose and lavender and have a vintage feeling when I selected these faceted spinel roundels. Tiny 2 mm gold filled beads alternate with stones all tightly bound to the hoops with wire.

I love to wrap different shapes and sizes of hoops with gems and crystals, as you can see in many earring styles in my studio. These round sterling hoops are 1 1/16" (27 mm) inner diameter and 1 1/2" (38 mm) maximum outer diameter. The spinel roundels are between 4 and 4.5 mm each in diameter and the lovely subtle colors are completely natural.

True spinel has long been found in the gemstone-bearing gravel of Sri Lanka and in limestones of the Badakshan Province in modern day Afghanistan and of Mogok in Burma. Spinel is found as a metamorphic mineral, and also as a primary mineral in rare mafic igneous rocks. It has a hardness of 8 on the Mohs scale (Wikipedia) Sometimes called the great imposter as the range of colors that it can be found in have similarities to many other different precious stones.

My original design might be perfect for a gift, for wedding or prom ensemble, for gardeners and nature lovers, for the love of a fresh bouquet, these earrings are so comfortable and are a joy to wear. They are one of a kind as this collection of stones can't be duplicated.

WillOaks Studio earrings are packaged in either cotton filled gift boxes or velvet bags for giving and for storage.
