The cap catcher is mounted to the plank using only one screw, so that it can be easily emptied. Simply tip it to the side, and the caps will dump out.
The bottle opener itself is a brand new cast iron Starr "X", which I've found work exceptionally well.

*Please note: If the top of the beer can is shown in the photo, fear not! It will be carefully removed prior to assembly and the rim will resemble an open soup can with no sharp edges.
Photos show the actual can for this listing, but I only remove the lid before your can is installed in case a beer can collector wants to buy the can in pristine condition with the lid intact. All the cans I use are in good vintage or better condition, and may have very minor dents or scrapes, but I do my best to clean them up.
